Great water cooling kit.02-17-2014

This is, in my opinion, a GREAT product. I''ve been using a much cheaper closed looped cooling kit that cost around $100 and found in most computer stores. I purchased this kit because I plan to overclock my Intel I7 3860K cpu and my new Geforce 780ti video card. The parts seem to be of very high quality, and heavy. Only problem you might have is with the install instructions. When was the last time you saw an install manual that had the word "BETA" on the cover? The instructions are a mess. On the fourth page it recommends putting the pump before the reservoir and a little further on it says to put the pump after the reservoir. ???? Beside the install manual, did I mention it has BETA on the cover, oops I meant to say BETA 2, there are install instructions packed inside each main component. Do you go by the main book or the individual install sheets. You decide. Before buying this kit DOWNLOAD the install instructions. The pump is easy to install. Once you figure out the tube routing. The BIG radiator takes gobbs of space inside your case. If you want to mount it outside your case you should add a 120mm radiator mount kit. I have a Corsair 800D tower and still found that I had to plan where everything would go. Attaching the enclosed tubing, 1/2in OD and 3/8in ID was a job in itself as the fit of the tubes over the fittings is VERY tight. Hint: have a pan of very hot water nearby when you go to put the tube on the fitting. I found almost boiling water temp will soften the end of the tube so you can get it to slip on the fitting. Another possible problem area is mounting the CPU heat sink. This is where the instructions my lead you off the path. I followed the instructions very closely but the first time I mounted the heat sink to the CPU I found out the hard way that the heat sink DID NOT touch the CPU. No wonder that my PC kept shutting down. Make sure that after you place the heat sink you remove it to see if thermal grease has actually transferred to the heat sink from the CPU. Final thoughts. It is a great system I have their VIDEO card water cooler kit installed with both the CPU and video card in the cooling loop and I can run Battlefield 4 maxed out and the temp of my computer barely gets to 100 degrees F. I know that this has been a long review but if you are planning to cool your system the right way and add a video card water cooler too then I feel you need to know as much about this kit as possible. Good luck and good cooling. The only reason for the 4 and not 5 is the instruction manual.

This is a very nice kit, went in my rig with no problems and I took my time with installation so I personally opted not to do a 24hr leak test (not recommeded) without any problems. I''m going to be upgrading the pump at some stage because I''ll be adding a GPU block and might add a single rad to the loop hence the pump upgrade. The kit is definantly customisable and a great first liquid cooled system.
