The G-Flow is the first of a next generation flow design by Innovatek that will soon spread across their entire product line. The revolutionary flow design provides minimal loss in liquid pressure from passing through the cooler while increasing the cooling performance of the block. The G-Flow also features a compact, low-profile design that makes it usable in almost any case on the market. With a Nickel plated pure Copper base and an Aluminum mounting hardware, the new all metal design removes almost any possibility of the unit leaking.
As an added bonus – every G-Flow ships with the CoolLaboratory Liquid Pro thermal compound to ensure you get the best thermal transfer rates possible!
Warning: Use of fluids other than the Innovatek Protect family is not recommended. Innovatek will not RMA defective products that have used alternative fluids, including UV Dyes. Do not use alcohol based cleaners on Innovatek products.
Did you know?
The innovatek Protect Products are the only licensed corrosion protection fluids in the PC-field that are officially approved by EHEIM for their pumps. Why take risks? Be safe and trust the specialists!
Overview and Features:
The G-Flow was designed and built by Innovatek from the ground up to optimize the cooling capacity of the liquid coolant. Designed for low flow rates and maximum cooling performance, the G-Flow also features extremely low flow resistance. The G-Flow provides the same flow resistance you get from 2 centimeters of tubing!
Therefore there are no demands for a high performance pump – as long as liquid is passing through the block, your CPU will remain cool. Also the low flow rate keeps the liquid coolant from breaking down and clogging the flow channels so your system can run happily for many years.
Features:
- High-end Cooling Performance
- Full Metal Design – the cooling fluid only interacts with metal, no plastics that could leak!
- Optimized for modern CPUs with a heat spreader
- Low-profile design – great for small cases
- Long-term performance tests – this cooler can run your rig overclocked indefinitely
- Minimum liquid pressure loss – the cooling liquid exits the cooler almost as fast as it entered it
- No need for special high-flow pumps – the G-Flow is designed for low pressure systems
- Simple installation and a safe design – the G-Flow is manufactured from scratch in Germany and is required to pass all of their strict safety laws
- Socket specific mounting systems – the cooler mounts to the CPU socket in the fashion exactly specified by the white paper specs published by the socket manufacturer.
- Clean and classic design – Innovatek has returned to their original high quality metal styling
Technology:
The special design of the G-Flow optimizes the cooling capacity of the liquid coolant and makes the high performance cooling required for extreme overclocking a reality. The flow design keeps the passage of the cooling fluid unobstructed for lower flow resistance. Since the pump has less of work load the cooling fluid does not get broken down by cavitation in the pump and does not clog the cooling system.
Design:
The design and manufacturing of G-Flow complies with all safety regulations in the United Sates, Germany and the European Union. The design also complies with the required specs specified in the white papers of the CPU socket manufacturers.
The base of the block is machined to ensure a perfect contact with the CPU. The surface needed to be flatter than what is achievable with pure Copper, so a few thousandths of a millimeter of Nickel plating was added to the base to increase the thermal transfer rates.
Fittings:
The G-Flow ships with two straight connect compression fittings. Threaded for G1/4" the fittings are designed for 8mm ID / 10mm OD tubing. This approximately matches 1/4" tubing and is of course a perfect match for the Innovatek 1/4" (8mm) tubing. Any G1/4" fittings will fit the G-Flow, but non Innovatek brand fittings will void any warranty on the block.

Pressure vs. Flow

Innovatek water cooling blocks are made for high pressure and not high water flow throughput. The previous reviewer (Gene) incorrectly assumed that lower flow means lower thermalconductivity.
High pressure water blocks with lower flow throughput have a higher potential to conduct heat energy than higher flow designs, when properly setup in a high pressure water cooling system.
The "checkerboard" design as commented by a previous reviewer allows for maximum fluid contact with the metal in the water block for maximum thermalconductivity, which is ideal in a high pressure system. The more surface area the better in high pressure systems.
This is why that reviewer had less than optimal performance in his high fluid flow system.
I strongly recommend against mixing waterblocks from different makers without verifying if their designs are intended for high pressure or high flow throughput. Mixing unmatched products will give less than ideal performance, and may eventually lead to leaks.
I don''t think worse performance deserves a higher price, Do U?

As far as I know there are no reviews for this block, but from the marketing mumbo jumbo it seems to be a decent block. I decided to borrow it from my buddy who is waiting for the rest of his parts to come in to see if it’s any good.
Quick note: I had to use 1/4” tubing with this block and a bunch of reducers as opposed to my 1/2” setup.
After about a day worth of testing this thing is out and my Apogee is back in! The G-Flow block as pretty as it may be has several flaws. First the standard Intel mounting push-clips would never be my first choice and is inappropriate for such a high price.
Second this is perhaps the most important the 1/4” inlet is just not acceptable for a so called “performance” water block. Third, the g-flow seems to have a fairly restrictive flow path; it''s like a tic-tac-toe pattern when assembled. Performance is not on par with what the marketing implies, at full load using Core2Duo 6600 @ 3.8 3-4C worse then my Apogee. It’s however almost on par with my old DangerDen Maze 4. Remember if you add a GPU or Northbridge block as well, then the temps are only going to get worse. If you don’t mind voiding the warranty to mod the block and enlarge the inlet for 3/8” or even 1/2" barbs, then it might be a different story, but as it stands I would look elsewhere especially @ $140 !!
