The ultimate in airflow to noise ratio, iXtrema Pro Quiet Fans are the only fans in the industry to be designed with silence and optimal airflow in mind. Smaller, domed motor hub, larger, more dramatic fan blade sweep area, no other fans on the market come even close in performance!
The new Fluid Dynamic Bearings offer better fan life, don't burn up lubricant, and run quieter. One symptom of the note is that the bearing fluid becomes less viscous during disuse, so the fan may run slowly before it is properly warmed up. Regular usage will avoid this problem.
Foward Sweeping Fan Blades
The forward sweeping fan blade design increases static pressure compared to other silent fans and offers better airflow in areas where ventilation is restricted.
Reduced Motor Size
The reduced motor size and conical shape allows for the largest blade surface area of any fan and improves aerodynamics compared to the cylindrical dead-spot of other silent fans.
Rubber Fan Mounts
The silicone-composite fan mounts dampen motor vibration and prevents resonance or so-called "case rattle" caused when fan vibrations reaches the chassis.
Power Connector Converter
The included power connector converter cable lets the user choose to use either standard 4-pin power supply connectors or the 3-pin RPM monitoring capable fan connectors.

This fan is quite I have to admit, but it also needs to be maintained. I bought 5 of these and so far, 4 of them have begun to slow down and make loud noises. Oddly enough, the first set of 2 did it one month and the next set of two did it the next month at the EXACT same time. Weird yes. What fixed it? I took them out, cleaned them by wiping the dust off then spraying a very small amount of WD-40 in the fan. So far that seems to hold it over for another month or so. I have learned that by taking off the sticker, it''s possible to take off the ring around it and actually take the blades off to better get in where the oil should be and re-lube it properly.
Awesome 80x80x15mm fan~

This thing is SILENT. They weren''t lying when they said this fan was SILENT. You gotta get your ear RIGHT up next to the thing to hear the spinning. And it really moves a good amount of air for how small and quiet it is. I am using this fan with the Thermalright HR-05/IFX on the ASUS Z7S WS mobo. I replaced the stock NB heatsink and slapped this fan with the HR-05/IFX. Since it is so thin (15mm) it fits anywhere. Probably one of the best 80x80x15mm fans out there. Keep in mind this fan uses Fluid Dynamic Bearings. For best performance, you need to give the fluid some time to warm up before the fan starts working at optimum performance.
It fits in so many places!

For its size, it pushes a heck of a lot of air. It is silent. period. Guess where it fits though! IT FITS BETWEEN THE FINSET AND PLATE OF AN HR-03! This decreased my temperatures from idle/load 60/90C to 45/60C, all other case fans on low. In conclusion, it works wonders because of its size...I wonder where else it fits! Also, the paint job on all SilenX fans is amazing. The new Fluid-Dynamic bearing system proves itself reliable and QUIET! I used to hate noise and I still do; now I don''t have to deal with it AND my temperatures are lower! YAY!
THANKS SILENX!
