I installed this a couple weeks ago on a S775 board. It has dramatically dropped the NB temps and even helped the CPU temps a bit. The biggest problem was installation. My board needed push pins to install this (the pins came with the heatsink) but the pins were too small to fit the board holes. Went to a local hardware store and picked up screws and nuts to install but I wish the unit would have come with better installation hardware.

Bought this as a replacement for the stock cooler on a D945GCLF2 Atom-based ITX board. The Northbridge uses the spring mounts, and the cooler won''t clear the capacitors or memory slot with the mounting buckles left on. To quote the package instructions: For Chipsets with Spring Mounts 1. Take off the buckles if your Northbridge does not use it. 2. Install the fan onto the heatsink with the included screws. ... Big problem - removing the buckles also removes the fan mounts. D''OH!

Makes some noise, but not much. I cranked its speed up to 100% and could not specifically hear it over my four 120mm case/CPU fans at 25%. I thought that was pretty impressive due to its small size and high rpm. Hard to modify if you have a tight fit. It got in the way of my GeForce 8800GT, so I had to grab a couple fins at a time and wiggle them back and forth until metal fatigue kicked in and they broke off. Every mm counts for me because my northbridge is so close to my video card, so I also had to get out a grinder to grind the stubbed fins off a little bit. I can''t say much about temps, yet. I have yet to find something that will monitor my northbridge temps. Overclocked my FSB to 250MHz and it passed my oh-so-scientific "too hot to touch" test. One last thing: installation. Kinda clumsy for pin installation. You may have an easier time than I did if you have skinny fingers. I got the first pin in easily, but had a hard time getting the second one in because there just wasn''t much space to get my finger in there. Maybe the hook-and-loop system is easier, but I don''t know since I never used that mounting system before.
