In response to the overwhelming demand for a quieter MCP650, Swiftech is proud to introduce the new MCP655 pump, which features several key improvements.
Considerably reduced audible operating noise: the high pitch frequency of the MCP655 is now eliminated thanks to a new chipset controller.
Head and flow characteristics have slightly improved in the midrange
The MCP655 pump is a high reliability, high pressure industrial pump, featuring a 50,000 hour MTBF (5 year lifetime). Such reliability is afforded by the unique design of this pump, which contains only one moving part: the magnetically driven spherical impeller spins on a single ceramic bearing, thus extending the life of this pump beyond existing standards.
The pump is completely plug-and-play, and connects directly to any computer power-supply through standard 4 pin power connectors. It's compact design, quiet and powerful motor make it ideally suited for heavy duty cooling in environments where space is at a premium.

My PSU Couldn''t Keep Pace With Quad Graphics Cards OCed So The Pump Worked Great Until It Wasn''t Getting Enough Juice. But Aside From My Own Foolishness This Pump Is Great! I Bought The Optional Silver Covering This Is Amazing When You Pump Is In A Visible Place, Rubber Mat Was Great For Reducing Vibration.

This pump is a rebranded Laing D5-38/810N and is extremely durable. I have this pushing water through an EK8800GT GPU Waterblock, an Alphacool NexXos Bold HighFlow CPU Block, a Feser 360 rad and Swiftech Micres Reservoir at speed setting 2. This gives silent operation and my temps are 22 deg C idle on the CPU and 35 deg C idle on the GPU. The pump is quite large compared to some others brands like Thermaltake. I drilled a couple of extra holes in the base and then used rubber grommets in the holes for mounting in the case - no vibration at all gets to the case. Great Pump
Best Pump on the Market

This is my first MCP655 pump "D5". I purchased in 07 and have never had the first vibration or noise out of it. It runs 24/7. My previous liquid cooled system had an all-in-one kit in it. This pump should never be ran dry or you will mess it up quick. Always take the extra time and effort to prefill the lines with water before you start it. Do not think that you can just let the pump pull the water in to your system and fill it that way. I have read my articles of people that TRIED and failed. I have recently changed out the top with an after market one. This gave me the option to use any fittings I want, no adapters needed. I choose the Koolance swival angled fittings and the acetal nozzle base is simular to Koolances but a little cheaper. Still fits on the original stand too. Do some research and you can make this think work in almost any way you can think of. no cutting or drilling needed. Very user friendly. A must have pump.
Expensive for such a low GPH rating!

I came from a pondmaster 500GPH 110v pump to this. So, I''m a little biased towards 110v pumps. But, for this being a 12v pump and the rated 317gph rating is nice. The form factory is great, however since I have been using it for about 6 months now, it has developed an audible "tinging" noise. The flow is still there as the temps are proof of that. I''m not too worried about it as if it fails it has a warranty, and my hardware is safe due to bios settings. Always use the bios shutdown temp settings when watercooling! I''d probably buy and again and recommend to others.

This pump is everything that everyone says it is. however it is bigger than I thought it would be so be warned. I have a mid tower case and it barely fits but shouldnt be too much of a problem for more creative minds. Also this thing is SUPER quiet.
