I bought this for my 9800GT. I was some heat issues. With stock cooler i was running 53C at idle and 71-73 during gaming sessions. this item installed in a snap, no issues at all, used a little artic ceramique for thermal compound and hooked a 30 cfm fan and my temps dropped to 32c at idle and around 59-60c during gaming sessions. Highly recomend this item, it is the #$%@, and yes it possitively works with the 9800GT. System specs: AMD3800+ x2, 2GB Corsair ram, seagate 160GB HDD, evga 9800GT, 650 watt generic psu.
Great on my 4850

Well, in summary the V2 installed onto my 4850 with ease, the memory heatsinks fit, and temps fell dramatically. Though, better temps aren''t hard to come by when this card reaches mid 80''s C during gameplay with the stock cooler.
My Sys Specs.
Current Case is Antec NSK4480B
I have a Silenx 120x120x38 in the rear at max.
A Quad LED 80mm in the front (intake)
Another 80mm at the side (exhausting from the gpu position)
I have another installed over the Thermalright V2
Other parts are:
Mobo Abit AB9 Pro
E6400 @ 3.2
4gb A-Data EXTREME DDR2 800+ @ stock clocks with a 1:1 ratio
One Seagate 320Gb 7200
and Plextor DVDRW Drive
Antec Earth Watts 500
With the stock cooler and the gpu at stock speed, all fans maxed out, my gpu temps were mid 60''s C and maxed about 87 C with normal gameplay in Crysis.
With the V2 installed, all fans at max idle temps dropped to 51 C and maxed out at 72 C.
Temps were taken from the Ati Overdrive panel & AMD''s GPU Clock Tool.
Overall GPU Summary:
Stock: Idle 62''C / Max 87''C
Thermalright V2: Idle 51''C / Max 72''C

I replaced the HR3-GT with these guys on my Cross Fired 3850s. Cooling dropped about 2-3C since it was able to add a SilenX 80mmx15mm fan on each. The VR2 are easy to install & keep my Crossfired 3850s @ 52C peak load temp. Not bad. I wish I had room on my motherboard to use the HR3-GTs with fans...but oh well this just fine. Great stuf again from Thermalright.
GREAT COOLER

This is a great cooler, got my 8600 GTS card cooler by 20c. My idle temp before installing the cooler was 56c, and after
installing the V2 my idle temp went down to 35c, a BIG improvement. The V2 is easy to enstall, instructions are well layed out and guide you step by step......Cooler is well made and fits like a glove on my EVGA 8600 GTS. But do get a fan if you get this unit, don''t count on only air cooling to do the job under heavy gaming in a warm case...
