The Thermalright HR-05/IFX Heatpipe Chipset Cooler is designed for the latest Socket 775 motherboard platforms. Using the new Wild Fire fan design, the HR-05/IFX features increased surface area for heat dissipation with any 80mm fan. The cooler also features an improved retention mechanism that provides a sturdier base and better motherboard compatibility. The fins also feature proprietary holes for efficient ventilation. The fins, heatpipe and nickel-plated copper base are soldered together for the best thermal conductance.

Effective...if you can get it on.

I''ve used Thermalright products in the past, including various versions of the Ultra 120 and am now using their XWB-1 CPU water block. After loosing 3 fans by moving to liquid-cooling, the loudest fan in the case was the little 40mm Nforce guy, who was constantly emitting the all-to-familiar high-pitched whine. I picked up one of these and and the SLI variant in hopes of quieting down the PC and hopefully getting a little extra cooling on the toasty North/Southbridge chips.
Well, they do work. The case is noticably quieter with the 80mm fan replacing the stock 40mm fan and my North/Southbridge temps decreased by an average of 6 and 3 degrees respectively.
Mounting these suckers was a royal PITA. However, what I thought at first would be a point of contention (the heat sinks are held in place by a single point which allows movement), I realized that due to space limitations (between the video cards and between the CPU liquid-cooling tubes and top video card), being able to adjust the angle of the heat sinks was actually a blessing in disguise. Obviously, no fan can fit on the Southbridge with two dual-slot video cards, but with a 25cm side case fan, there was apparently enough airflow to reduce the temperature.
Buy them... they work well and look great. Just set aside extra time for installation and take a couple advil before you start.
Excellent Northbridge Heatsink, but...

Great heatsink. Lowered the Northbridge temp substantially. I have it installed on a GA-P35-DS3L, and even though it''s big it fits. This was a pain to install! You have to remove the mobo to install it (no biggie). However, the spring steel mounting clip is very strong. As you tighten the screws to pull the spring down the rubber washers squirt out the sides of the screw heads on the back of the mobo! Luckily, I had some fiberglass ultra-thin and extra-large diameter washers to put between the screw heads and rubber washers. I was then able to tighten the heatsink down securely on my Intel P35 board. Get some ultra-thin non conducting washers so you are prepared if you have a mobo with holes instead of loops and hooks.
