The NF-P12 has been specifically developed for applications such as CPU coolers that demand superior pressure and airflow performance. Thanks to psychoacoustic optimizations like the Vortex-Control Notches, the new SCD drive system and Noctua’s premium-grade SSO-Bearing, the NF-P12 achieves exceptional quietness and long-term stability.
The pressure-optimized Nine Blade Design of the NF-P12 (P stands for pressure, power and performance) has been specifically developed for high-impedance applications such as CPU coolers, water-cooling radiators, power supplies or cases with restrictive fan grills. It achieves outstanding static pressure and high airflow at very low noise levels.
While most conventional 120mm rotors possess seven comparably narrow fan blades, the NF-P12‘s Nine-Blade Design uses nine large, closely spaced blades with a relatively low angle of attack in order to achieve maximum static pressure and high airflow. As a result, the NF-P12 provides no less than 1.68 mm H²O at 1300 rpm, which is something that other fans merely achieve at 1600 rpm or more.
Noctua principally recommends the NF-P12 for the following applications:
- CPU coolers with tight fin-spacing
- Water-cooling radiators with tight fin-spacing
- Power supplies
- Storage solutions
- Cases with very restrictive fan grills and filters
- All applications with significant obstruction to airflow

With over 30 years in the computer field this is one of the very best fans we have ever used.High static pressure and low noise make this fan the ultimate choice for CPU coolers, intake and exhaust fan. Looks are not grear but that is not a issue when it comes to this kind of performance.
Nice Sounding Fan

I read about these on the NPO silentpcreview. Basically, it is a good fan if you''re looking for quietness. I have it at its full 1300 RPM, and you can only hear it if you get within 12" or so.
Importantly, the vortex control notches do give the fan a much more pleasant sound to the ear! Not the constant higher pitched whine of most fans that can wear you down.
It moves noticeably more air than my armorsuit''s stock fan (rear exhaust), but still not a whole lot.
Undeniably, it is the ugliest fan on the planet... At least none of your friends will mistake it for anything other than a "Nausea-octua".
Hey, I guess it might work you if you have a wooden PC case!
All in all, I would buy it again. I just wish they would get with it and make some blue LED fans; CLEAR please!
(3DB DROP IN IN TOTAL SYSTEM SPL- 58DB NOW vs 61DB STOCK; ambient SPL at 55DB; measured at 1M with a Scosche digital SPL meter).

After years of using "stealth" and other competing products I was rather skeptical about the high cost and whether if the fan would perform to expectation. To my surprise, it lived up to the advertised claims. It''s got strange colours yes, but for what its intended for it works exceptionally well. I''m going to order more for the rest of my cases to toss out all the old "stealth" products, which are noisy compared to this.
Not the best

Pro''s: Made out of strong plastic, Silent, Heavy (makes it feel high-quality)
Con''s: The coloring. This fan is ugly, the pictures don''t do it justice. Pink and brown, seriously? The red in the picture is actually a deep brown. It says this fan is designed for radiators and CPU coolers, so why put a plastic column so close to the screw hole that makes it impossible to use most screws when having the head on the inside? Expensive for a fan with no LED''s or controllers too.

I purchased two of these fans for my Home Audio equipment. Drilled 2 holes in the back of my cabinet, hot glued the fans over the 4" holes and plugged them in. The airflow is awesome and keeps my receiver, xbox 360, dvd player and other units all at room temp and cool to the touch. Without them all units heat up to dangerous levels. these are inaudible and move tons of air!!! work great
