- Special Heat Spreader for Voltage Regulator Cooling
- Memory Cooling
- High Reliability
- Low Weight
- 6 Years Warranty
Accelero S1 Rev. 2 features 4 thick copper heatpipes which connect directly from the GPU core. The heatpipes with sintered powder wicks provide ultimate heat conductivity. Heat from the GPU is rapidly dissipated through 32 fins that extend beyond the height of the graphic card. Optimized fin design allows better air flow thus removing the heat more effectively. Together with the bundled RAM heat sinks and voltage regulator heat spreader, Accelero S1 Rev. 2 provides an all-round passive solution that achieves the best cooling performance.

Install and forget about it – No moving parts means it is maintenance free. An extra pair of mounting clips provides extensive protection to the graphic card that prevents damage from improper handling. With the help of the new mounting design, Accelero S1 Rev. 2 is widely compatible with high end ATI and nVIDIA graphic cards.
Accelero S1 Rev. 2 can still be paired with the Turbo Module – the twin fans add-on, which further increases the potential power of Accelero S1 Rev. 2 with enhanced cooling performance under extremely quiet operation. Turbo Module helps boost up the GPU and memory overclockability, squeezing more graphic performance than ever before.

Good Cooling, but....

Install this on a HD3870 (Just one GPU, not the 3870X2). I mounted a fan right on top of this blowing down across the fins. The card idles at about 100-105F, which is down from about 135F with the stock air cooler at idle.
But, I had some installation issues. You get some little plastic spacers to hold the heat exchanger the correct amount off the card so it contacts the GPU correctly. With those installed only about 1/3 of the GPU was in contact with the copper pad. Card ran about 200F. I sanded the spacers down to get it to have full contact. Once this was done it worked well.
They also give you some plastic pieces to keep the weight of the heat exchanger from all being on the screws/card circuit board. These were too tall and had to be made a bit smaller as well.
In the end I am happy with the cooler and would get one again if I needed it.
Picture is worth 1K words.

You think that looks big there? This heatsink is about 50% larger that my 8600GTS and nothing on it moves. It comes with a ton of parts to fit a lot of different models and it was a bit intimidating once I opened it. Be brave and marvel at the fact the the outer most fins are cold! Not ever warm from all the heat on the GPU. Oversize means that you need a longer goldfinger cable(the SLI cable) but to lose all the noise is worth the price.
