The MCRES-MICRO Revision 2 reservoir shares all the good things that characterized the classic MCRES Micro in size, quality, and provided accessories, but it also includes additional enhancements and functionalities that have been requested by enthusiast users. The most noticeable feature is an additional port at the bottom of the unit. All threads, including the fill-port which was previously a PG7 standard, are now BSPP 1/4" compatible. The new BSPP 1/4" plugs made of high polish chrome plated brass, are used for both the fill-port and the alternate outlet port. A vent was added to the anti-turbulence baffle to eliminate the formation of a small air bubble that occured in the previous model.
Many Uses
The most noticeable feature is an additional port at the bottom of the unit. This port can be used as follows:
- as an alternate outlet providing a straight tube routing to a pump located underneath the reservoir
- to feed a second pump
- to plug-in a temperature sensor
- as a drain
Standardized Threading
All threads, including the fill-port which was previously a PG7 standard, are now 1/4" BSPP (G1/4) compatible.
High Quality Fittings
New 1/4" BSPP (G1/4) plugs made of high polish chrome plated brass, are used for both the fill-port and the alternate outlet port.
More Efficient Operation
A vent was added to the anti-turbulence baffle to eliminate the formation of a small air bubble that occured in the previous model.

Even w/ the plastic barbs & no thread-seal tape, I got no leaks. The included barbs are the nicer ones w/ flanges btw. I love how they put the little hole in the baffle. Overall, this is a well engineered res (especially for the price). My only guff is the mounts. The metal pieces are close to useless for me and it''d be nice if there were mounts on top too.

I actually bought the 1st version, which doesn''t have the bottom port, but they don''t sell that anymore so here we are. Same thing anyway.
I found it hard to mount, it was difficult to find a place for it. I had some leak problems with the threads.
Save yourself some trouble and get better cooling through a passive cooling reservoir, they look amazing too. Wish I had have.
