I had a friend order these parts for her project - she was VERY excited... After wiring these up to a 3.0 VDC connection the purple is washed out - this is NOT A UV LED! this is a white LED with a purple cap that does a poor job coloring... we dropped the VDC down to about 1.5 and the affect is SLIGHTLY better but still not UV. the build of this button however is fairly sturdy - the stainless finish is very attractive and looks good. Id recommend staying away from these dot switches if youre looking for UV - but if you just want purple they work.
