The fitting does not leak, however the barb is not pronounced. I purchased this and chose a thick, less flexible tycoon tube. The barb was not enough to hold the tube well. I had to use pliers to tighten the compression fitting, and it still didn''t stay on while I fitted the rest of the loop. I ended up having to use a heat gun to melt the end of the tube, press it on the fitting, and then tighten it again while it was warm. It was mostly because this tubing was thick, but I would recommend the bits power elbow extension, and then adding a different compression fitting, rather than use this one.

Great rotary compression fitting. You cant go wrong with Bitspower because of its excellent build quality. I used it for my CPU block which saved me a headache when trying to route my tubing. Get it!
