This CPU block I was skeptical of. However it turned out to work out nicely. I have a 8 core amd fx 8120. This processor with the stock heat sink would get to 71C at max load. (BTW I am not a noob. I have been building for 12 years /w B.S. in C.S.)The stock heat
sink is crap. With this my max temps dropped to 55C max load WITH an overclock to 3.7 ghz. http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2289149
The link is to the CPU-Z validation. I am quite happy with this block. Was kind of a pain to install and you may want to get a back plate for extra pressure but it was well worth the price. For those just starting out or have a limited budget this block works well. (btw I did use some plumbers tape just to make sure the threads sealed well.)
