 Noisiest Component of my Computer

I bought two of these with the idea that moving my HDD out of the cage would allow better air circulation around my PSU. I own an Antec P180B and my HDD are now at the very top of the tower. The fact these were supposed to be siilent had a huge effect on my buying decision. To my great disappointment, the fans are the noisiest components of my computer; my CPU fan is even quieter then those. The good part about this Hard Drive Cooler is that it cools your hard drives. Duh! If mounted properly, they also get rid of any vibrations you might have had in the past. Overall, I give this item a 2 because it is a noisy component and that the removable filter is quite cheap in my opinion. Nontheless, it does its job as a Hard Drive Cooler.

I''ll begin by saying that this little system is quiet enough to qualify as a church mouse, in fact I double checked the molex to make sure it was on. Now for those looking for a 10,000rpm HDD solution- buy a slower drive. For the rest my 7,200rpm drive loves this thing. It''s a massive heatsink/fan/anti-vibration kit in one. I bought mine to accommodate a large front intake fan that necessitated removal of the HDD cage. My one piece of installation advice would be to mount it in your case (sans HDD) and adjust the front bezel for depth then remove it and add your hard drive. Two thumbs up!
