These don''t last

These fans are great the day you get them, but they don''t last. Bought a set last year around this time, and I''m already replacing them because they''re now louder than every other fan in my case. Went with Sythe fans instead.

These fans last about a year

Bought two of these fans about a year ago, and they are both failing right now. Also agree with another reviewer that there is not much air flow. Will not buy these fans again.

I dont doubt the noise, but the airflow? ehhh...

This thing really is silent, I have three installed and barely hear them. However, they push far less than 72 CFM from what I''ve noticed. I get more air coming out of my PSU than these fans. I also would''ve given these things at least a 3 or 4 if one hadn''t died within a month and the second one started acting up. I regret buying these; for $21, you''d expect something great, but you wont find it here sadly.

Not really 14dBA

Great airflow and cooling, but it''s not even closed to 14dBA. Maybe it''s just be case, but compared to my TT Big Typhoon CPU cooler, which has a range of 16-24dBA, the SilenX fan is about the same noise as the CPU fan on full (24dBA). With that said, it gives great cooling. Even with the CPU fan on minimum, three of these fans in the case gives me a reading of 30C/22C on my X6800, compared 38C/33C with the same number of stock fans. The total noise level is maybe 3-5dBA more, though it is significant for my ears. I don''t know, maybe I can get used to it, but I might try the 11dBA''s.

Good & Bad

Very quiet, good airflow but both fans failed within 4 months. I too had a leaker that spewed on the mobo.

Dead silent but watch for oil spritz

Got this to replace the stock 120 in my TT Kandolf. The SilenX has way better airflow @ less than half the noise. It did seem to spritz some oil arround the I/O and mossfets. When you get it plug it in and spin it up outside your case for a few minutes. Other reviews state a "smell" I believe that is the oil cooking off on the warm areas of the Mobo and CPU. It did not cause me any problems and does not appear to be conductive. All in all a great fan though. Highly reccomended and worth the $$$.
