Spectacular Flow
10-06-2011
Reviewer:nicktlloyd (13)
Love this pump, can''t say enough about it. I''m running a single loop with CPU, mobo and dual GPU blocks with a quad rad and almost 10 feet of tubing. This thing blasts water through all of it. Works extremely well inside the XSPC Dual Bay Res.

Great Pumps!

I was unsure about this product. I originally researched the pump on youtube, trying to get an idea for the overall practicality of the pump in comparison to other pumps. I have two of these in a redundant loop, cooling 3 580''s and a 2600k. My flow is overkill with these pumps, but where you get your money''s worth is in the audible nothingness it provides. They are very quiet, and the adjustable (i''m running at setting 2) speed really helps if you''re only cooling a few components. It is expensive, but you will NOT be disappointed, you owe it to yourself and your PC investment to buy this pump.

Amazingly quiet!

I came from an MCP 600 after running it 24/7 for about 8 years. It was quite audible, but performed well enough plus it lasted well beyond the MTBF. After getting my new loop installed and was turning this pump on for the first time, I did not think it was running at all, until I saw the water it was moving. It has a "soft start" so be prepared and do as the other reviewer suggested and have the pump pre-primed(water at the intake) or you will cause damage in a hurry. I cannot hear the pump, even on max settings, over my 5 raptors and 7 fans(low speed). I would have no problems suggesting this pump to anyone!

Developed a rattle at speed 5

Initially it was silent at all speeds, but while still getting rid of bubbles it developed a rattle on the #5 speed setting. At 4 1/2 it is silent still, but I think I might RMA it. Otherwise, yeah, terrific pump.

Great, quiet pump!

Pump moves a ton of H2O w/o all the noise. Barely audible at max setting. Turned down 20% and you can’t tell it’s there.

No Power, No Flow!

My PSU Couldn''t Keep Pace With Quad Graphics Cards OCed So The Pump Worked Great Until It Wasn''t Getting Enough Juice. But Aside From My Own Foolishness This Pump Is Great! I Bought The Optional Silver Covering This Is Amazing When You Pump Is In A Visible Place, Rubber Mat Was Great For Reducing Vibration.

This pump is a rebranded Laing D5-38/810N and is extremely durable. I have this pushing water through an EK8800GT GPU Waterblock, an Alphacool NexXos Bold HighFlow CPU Block, a Feser 360 rad and Swiftech Micres Reservoir at speed setting 2. This gives silent operation and my temps are 22 deg C idle on the CPU and 35 deg C idle on the GPU. The pump is quite large compared to some others brands like Thermaltake. I drilled a couple of extra holes in the base and then used rubber grommets in the holes for mounting in the case - no vibration at all gets to the case. Great Pump

Best Pump on the Market

This is my first MCP655 pump "D5". I purchased in 07 and have never had the first vibration or noise out of it. It runs 24/7. My previous liquid cooled system had an all-in-one kit in it. This pump should never be ran dry or you will mess it up quick. Always take the extra time and effort to prefill the lines with water before you start it. Do not think that you can just let the pump pull the water in to your system and fill it that way. I have read my articles of people that TRIED and failed. I have recently changed out the top with an after market one. This gave me the option to use any fittings I want, no adapters needed. I choose the Koolance swival angled fittings and the acetal nozzle base is simular to Koolances but a little cheaper. Still fits on the original stand too. Do some research and you can make this think work in almost any way you can think of. no cutting or drilling needed. Very user friendly. A must have pump.

Expensive for such a low GPH rating!

I came from a pondmaster 500GPH 110v pump to this. So, I''m a little biased towards 110v pumps. But, for this being a 12v pump and the rated 317gph rating is nice. The form factory is great, however since I have been using it for about 6 months now, it has developed an audible "tinging" noise. The flow is still there as the temps are proof of that. I''m not too worried about it as if it fails it has a warranty, and my hardware is safe due to bios settings. Always use the bios shutdown temp settings when watercooling! I''d probably buy and again and recommend to others.

This pump is everything that everyone says it is. however it is bigger than I thought it would be so be warned. I have a mid tower case and it barely fits but shouldnt be too much of a problem for more creative minds. Also this thing is SUPER quiet.
