Didn''t do it''s job... did much, much more.

I bought this in conjunction with an enzotech SLF-1 to replace the catastrophe of a heatsink that was pasted on my Maximus Formula SE. Before the installation, temps for mobo/nb/sb/gpu/cpu @ load were 45/49/47/42/46 C. After, 34/46/36/38/45 C. It''s amazing what a simple swap can do. Fit fine with a xigmatek dark knight installed, but had to install it pointing up. 1 point off for horrendous installation instructions, a mega PITA to install, and a primitive fan holder. SMH. I also didn''t use that useless sponge guard they gave... what the hell is it supposed to do? They gave some good TIM though, I''m thankful for that.
Superb

I used two of these on my evga 790i FTW mobo. The northbridge installation is easy but southbridge is PITA. It was necessary to adjust (read "bend") the angle of heatpipes in order to mount it horizontally and it WILL limit you to max 2 way SLI. also the bracket needed to be flipped and combined with my custom screws (read not in bundle) but the result.... Otherwise if you dont like it stick to north and get something else for south. Overall here are the specs before and after installation (take a note that my system is overclocked: q9550 2.83 @ 4.0ghz 1.3v 1882 fsb with mushkin ddr3 @ 1882 (1600 native. part number 996601) link n sync 8-8-7-20-2T 24/7 stable). With these specs i had SPP at 57-60 and MCP at 66-68 celsius. After mod i got SPP down to 43-44 and MCP 34-36!!! The room temp was kept at 23-24 celsius during testing and stressing. Great result giving me some extra space for overclock. Buy it!
Working and cooling off my chipset

I would love to buy another one if I got the money. It keeps my ECS 8200A/720a and my old nforce 4 Sli motherboard chipset perrty cool.bad thing about this is that the screw comes long and the screw nuts is big I wish they cut this in half and cut the screw alittle shorter. but I did this to get my Video card to fit. but other than that it awesome stuff here and frozencpu rocks!
Works alright but poorly implemented

The purpose of this heat sink is to leave room for a large Video card or SLI, most SLI users have large video cards many 9 inches and 2 slots wide. You cannot face this away from the PCI slots of cards will be to long so there is only 1 way you can face it away from the CPU. Also the screws shipped with it are long with long nuts to fasten them. This basically defeats the purpose of the heatsink since those screws may stick up far enough to hit parts of your video card. I had to install 1 screw backwards and drill a hole in my mother board tray to make this work. Also the retention system is not that good it can still rotate on my chip. In the end with some modifications it worked but a couple shorter screws and smaller nuts extra in the bag would have saved so much time and made it look better.
