I have previously owned two of the lower powered blue Eheim pumps and decided to try out the higher powered red one this time around (why not, its only $13 more).
Unfortunately I cannot quantify the increase in power since I do not use a flow meter, but I can say that there is a noticeable increase in pressure from what I see in my reservoir. Very noticeable. And I''m very happy to say that I can not detect any increase in sound for the added power - it is the same soft hum that I am used to from the blue model.
If you are not familiar with the Eheim pumps please remember that you will need to buy a hose attachment for the front of the pump. The one on top is included, but for some reason you need to purchase the one in the front separately. |
