Great Pump But Threads Mis-Tapped
I''ve been buying water-cooling supplies from Frozencpu.com for many years and have purchased many pumps. With that said this is easily the best pump I''ve come across during that time given its features, flow-rate, foot-print, max head height, PWM control, and ability to use various barb sizes.
However the reason I''m rating this pump a "3" is because of the poor thread machining in both the inlet and outlet ports. As the other reviewer mentioned these ports were mis-threaded which made it very difficult to install the barbs.
It was possible to install the barbs but I''m afraid they are cross-threaded now. I am also worried that the outlet port will crack over time because of the cross-threaded barb and minimal material around the outlet port. I''ve been using the pump without trouble for about 3 months without any issues or cracks but I''ll keep you all updated! Of course Frozencpu.com once again did a great job, thanks guys! |

Do Not Purchase This Reservoir!
I purchased this thinking it would be perfect given that I''m running the MCP35X pump. However its turned out to be the worst investment I''ve made in regards to water-cooling equipment.
Just like the other reviewer my reservoir developed multiple cracks around the lower aux port after only 2wks of use (and it wasn''t from over tightening the plug either)! This crack just developed today, I heard a loud "crack" but thankfully it didn''t leak so I was able to shut my system down before any issues happened!
The more frustrating issue was trying to get all the air out of my system (this has been an issue since day one and it has nothing to do with the cracks).
No matter what I did I could not get all the air out of my loop (and it wasn''t caused by leaks, loose clamps, or defective blocks). Essentially any air that is in the system simply gets sucked back into the pump, even when I run the pump in PWM mode and lower the RPM of the pump to its minimal setting.
Every time I start my system you can hear and see air being sucked through the pump, after a few minutes of running the air will work its way out. However as soon as you restart the system it starts all over again!
I truly wish I didn''t purchase this reservoir because its cost me far more than the $29.95 purchase price (because of the hours of labor I spent trying to get it working properly)!
Of course this has nothing to do with Frozencpu.com as their service was excellent (even though I can''t return it for a refund or store credit)! |

Great Block!
Unfortunately I purchased this block directly from Danger Den (I would have much rather purchased it from FrozenCPU). With that said the block is a work of art and the machining is wonderful! The installation was quite easy and the installation instructions were well written. Everything fit perfectly, all the mounting screws mated up perfectly, and the block mated perfectly with all heat producing surfaces (which is very important on a full-coverage block like this)!
I tested the block overnight before installing it and there were no leaks at all. There was very little restriction in flow through the block so it works great with multiple waterblock cooling loops.
Granted the block cost more than other GTX295 blocks but in my opinion its worth it given the great characteristics and great customer service from Danger Den. |
