 Great Quality
Very high quality, and well-designed. After installing the block, my HIS 5870 is running at 28*C idle with the VRMs idling at 40*C. Clocks and voltage are conservative at: 1.25volts - 1000MHz core clock, 1250MHz memory clock. Load temps are 38*C at the core, and 50*C at the VRMs -- absolutely incredible load temperatures.
If you have never installed an aftermarket cooler before, I would recommend trying on something else first -- the installation of this block is for pros only -- the standoffs do not come attached, so installing those is probably the biggest pain, and because of the delicacy required due to the standoffs, this makes the mounting of the block particularly tricky. When you install this block, just take your time and go one step at a time. The standoffs are a great idea, they just really need to come pre-attached to the block as that would make the installation much much simpler.

I agree with the first poster. I''ve had this tubing for about 2 years -- over time it has collapsed in on itself and does feel very flimsy. The bright side is it is flexible, but if it fully kinks, it could destroy your pump and components if the system is running. I need to find something stronger. I''d gladly give up flexibility for more sturdiness. |

Great!
I have an 8800 GTX. At stock speeds with the stock hsf, it idled at 50*C and loaded at 72*C (in Crysis) with the fan set at 100%. After switching to this Zalman VF1000 along with the matching ram sink kit, and I also added 2 80mm fans for active cooling on the i/o chipset, ram, and voltage regulators, idle is now 40*C and load is 54*C (Crysis after 1 hour). I highly recommend this product. The only thing to take note of is that for installation, you better know what you''re doing. I''m very experienced and it took me between 60-90 minutes for everything, granted I did some of my own mods to the kit at the same time, but overall, I don''t think I''d be doing anybody any favors if I didn''t point that, to do the VF1000 + the ramsink kit, it will take some time, you need to be patient, and careful. :) This is a great product. 5-star recommendation. |
