Great price!
I''m using this in the floppy bay of my Antec P180B case to control 3 Noctua 1200rpm fans. The best thing about this is the price point; i.e.it''s cheap and seems to work just fine. The case is plastic, not metal, but that makes it easier to ventilate if you want more air cooling. it comes pre-ventilated. It is setup to allow you to monitor the fans from your motherboard if you have the 3 pin connections to do so.
Since I''m only using 3 fans I popped the lid open and put the extra unused fan lead inside the case, which has a lot of extra room. That''s when I noted that the cable strain relief is simply a knot in the 5 cables inside the case. Like I said, it''s cheap, but it works. Looks nice when installed too. I sleeved mine at home and that makes the thin cables a bit more rigid for easier routing. |

Very good to excellent!
Cheap, looks good, and warms up fast so it''s definately sinking the heat. Replaces the stock ASUS passive heatsink which was attached with, ick, thermal pads. I used Arctic silver paste for my install.
Yes the install is a bit tough because the screws are VERY small, but once done it fits well. Mating surface is practically mirror honed and un-anodized. The only thing which could improve this is if they give you 4 attachment hooks instead of 2 arranged diagonally. This cooler works with mother boards that have either holes or hooks/loops.
With this my motherboard temp went from 95 F to 89 F. |

Excellent: buy it.
My case has 7 80mm fans. This unit replaces a 4 controller Thermaltake Hardcano that came with my old Xaser III case.
This unit is easy to install and use, but has a couple of minor annoyances:
- it''s shallow depth, so using it in my case with toolless rails is tough since the far end of the plastic rals have nothing to attach to. It''s not held in firmly; I''ll have to mod the rails.
- I wish the supplied wires were a bit longer for doing hidden wire runs. It''s workable now, but maybe half again as long would have been nice. Of course if it was I might complain there was too much wire in some cases :)
This unit in silver looks very nice on my blue and silver aluminum case.
2 of the 6 fans have splitter cables so you can monitor them from the motherboard. |

Not as good as the fan shaped Zalman northbridge cooler
I bought this AND the fan shaped blue aluminum cooler figuring to try both. But as noted in the description (which I missed) THIS cooler REQUIRES HOLES in the motherboard. My motherboard uses loops & hooks instead of holes. No "thermal epoxy" is supplied.
That said, my eyebal eval of this is: the bottom is anodized blue, not honed like the other Zalman cooler that''s only $3 more and works with hooks or holes. This one has a lot of surface area, but without actually testing it I can''t commend on how well it cools. The only way I''d buy this one again is a) if my mobo had holes, and b) if I needed a vertical design like this due to lack of space around the chip. |
