 BEST 92mm alive...
On an AMD 6400+ (with ambient of 70F), I get idle temps of ~22C / Torture-Test temps of ~36. I''m using 2 AeroCool 50CFM fans on it.
Since I have 2 of these, I will lapp one and compare the difference. With these kind of temps (using AS 5), I would highly suggest getting this for anyone looking for the sub-120mm air cooled solution. BTW I did not have to remove my MoBo for installing it onto the AM2 socket so total install took about 15min. |

Great Stuff.
I replaced the HR3-GT with these guys on my Cross Fired 3850s. Cooling dropped about 2-3C since it was able to add a SilenX 80mmx15mm fan on each. The VR2 are easy to install & keep my Crossfired 3850s @ 52C peak load temp. Not bad. I wish I had room on my motherboard to use the HR3-GTs with fans...but oh well this just fine. Great stuf again from Thermalright. |

Nothing Else Comes Close!!!
This HS is for optimal cooling for the newest GPUs (G92 & RV670). It dropped idle temps on my CrossFired 3850s from 52C all the way down to 29C. Under full load I was getting temps as high as 98C with the stock cooler. With the HR03-GT full load temps are never peak beyond 68C--->>> all this without even adding the recommended 92mm fans.
The only drawback is it''s size (although it''s probably it''s greatest strength). However, for my application on an ASUS M2R32-MVP the PEX slots'' placement do not allow for a CrossFire setup with the HS on the bottom of the cards & fans installed. With a fan installed you would need 3 slot spaces between cards, (at least for my application on an ASUS M2R32-MVP).
I advise to take some measurements before jumping into it.
Overall though, the HR03-GT is a great HS for the newest cards. I have 2 more to install on my 8800GTs, whew-hoo ;-D |
