 You can''t lose!
An addition to my first review: Noise-dampening material is always somewhat of a hit-or-miss proposition. It may make a great difference, or it may make a small one. FrozenCPU''s great price on this material compared to competing products (astronomical!) lets you try this approach without much risk. If it produces only a modest improvement you''re happy with the modest investment. If it makes a dramatic difference you''re happy you didn''t spend several times as much for the same result. Aren''t situations like this great?
And for those who care, it is pretty nice-looking, although the sample images are not necessarily accurate. My mats have the FrozenCPU.com logo as it is seen in the one picture centered in the mat without any of the other writing. The bottom of my case now looks just like the other picture but with the logo in the middle. I like to think I''m all about "quiet performance" and couldn''t care less about looks, but the subtle silvery lettering on the black mat is simple and elegant, and I was pleased to get this bonus above and beyond its actual performance.

A quality product and a bargain
This noise-dampening material was well worth it for me. My impression is that some sounds were noticeably reduced and others were made more comfortable sounding in their quality. The overall effect is much more peaceful. A wonderful addition to a "bedroom computer." For best results with this or any sound-dampening material you should first address any major noise issues directly (replace noisy stock fans with quiet replacements, etc.) and then consider this "icing on the cake." |
