 They work just fine!
These work just fine, just hold them into place and screw the opposite corners in, diagonally first, not tightening the screws all the way in just yet. Just use the same method that you would use to mount a CPU block/heatsink and you''ll be fine.
If you plan on using these on a radiator, or a fan configuration in which the fans are right next to each other, these silencers will bump up against each other. Just use scissors, a razor, or a Dremel (yes, a Dremel) to cut off what you need to.
