 I have been looking for this kind of a bay device for *YEARS!*
Considering that most cases made currently already have mic and headphone jacks installed and pre-wired, I have no need for an interconnect device that includes them.
I used this product for the first time last month for a rig that I built for a friend of mine who''s previous computer was 5 years old and dying rapidly. They do a lot of charity work and needed a lot of USB ports in an accessible location; the Akasa AK-ICR-08 fit the need perfectly!

 It was a good idea, but the execution...not so much
There are three critical things (IMO) that are wrong with this device:
1) Very fiddly spaghetti wiring.
2) Chews through the internal battery (CR 2032) in 90 days. This isn''t a backup battery either; it drives the information display.
3) Most damning: there isn''t an easy to change the battery described in item #2. Both sides of the computer case have to be removed, the controller dismounted from the chassis (if there is enough clack in the cables. *THEN* you can change the battery and put everything back together.
