In order to meet the needs of professional NAS users for high-performance storage solutions and fill the lack of SATA interfaces on the motherboard, SilverStone created ECS06, a hardware-based SATA 6G Non-RAID PCI-E card. ECS06 has a built-in ASMedia ASM1166 SATA host controller (AHCI) with upstream PCIe Gen3 x2 and downstream six SATA Gen3 ports.
