Excellent barbs, its been several months with no issues, no leaks, and no flaking. These are also nicely machined. I always use thread tape on all my fittings. IMHO you should too. Could be that''s why other people had leaks possibly. I love these fittings.

As another reviewer mentioned these barbs have threads which are longer than the industry standard. This causes leaks when the thread bottoms out prior to the o-ring mating. Also when I tried to use these with a Swiftech 35X they allowed flow, but actually impeded the pump from spinning from direct contact.
I purchased these barb fittings recently and thought all was good until the time came for a leak test. While conducting the leak test, I noticed there were three locations in my loop that were leaking. After draining my system, I pulled apart everything and noticed that what appeared to be nice and tight connections were that the threaded screw fittings were actually bottoming out on the 5.25 bay reservoir, cpu cooler block and y adapter. It was to the point that screwing further would damage the components. Even testing on the koolance drain plug proved useless because the threaded portion was too long. Don''t waste your money.
